Volunteering with SCA

Everyone has their own reasons for volunteering, whether it’s wanting to make a difference, wanting a challenge, or just wanting to try something new. At Cambridge volunteering can be a great escape from ‘the bubble’, something to look forward to by week 5!

Volunteering can be a flexible addition to your week and it needn’t consume your whole life. Working on one of our projects is much less commitment than many other sports and societies such as rowing or acting. If you’re still worried we have one-off events such as busking, gardening, refereeing competitions, theatre workshops, summer fun days and dressing up as Santa for Christmas!

Volunteering increases your career opportunities by demonstrating your motivation and stunningly benevolent nature. For those looking to add to their employability, our senior positions (committee member, treasurer, project leader) represent more than just a line on your CV, the experience you will have can become the basis of an application for an internship or vacation scheme.

Whatever your reasons for volunteering are, we’ll try our best to make sure you have as rewarding an experience as possible.
