COVID-19 STATEMENT
Our office at 17 Mill Lane is currently closed due to COVID-19. All correspondence should be sent to our satellite office at Varsity Farm, Chittering, Cambridge, CB25 9PW.
In the interests of the safety of our volunteers and clients, Student Community Action has taken the decision to suspend all face to face volunteering for the foreseeable future.
We are however, encouraging all our current one-to-one volunteers to keep up communication with their clients by letter, phone or email. It is a particularly worrying time for the elderly and children so if you have a client, do check in with them to see if they are okay. A letter, call or postcard from you telling them what you have been up to might really make their day! Please do contact caroline@cambridgesca.org.uk with any questions or updates.
Check out our ‘Volunteering at Home’ page for some more ideas about how you can help your community during this difficult time.
Welcome to Cambridge and welcome to volunteering!
Student Community Action has been providing volunteering opportunities that fit in with student lifestyle since 1972! Volunteering can add a significant amount of fun into your time here in Cambridge. You not only get to help vulnerable members of the Cambridge community, you also get to experience life outside the student bubble and make friendships that last beyond your time here!
To get involved check out our VOLUNTEERING WITH SCA tab to check out our projects and opportunities.
If you already know what you want to help with you can go straight to the Sign Up Form
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Accessibility and Equality
Student Community Action is an organisation which values diversity and inclusion at its heart. We actively encourage applications from volunteers of any gender identity, race, ability, religion, or nationality. If you have any questions or concerns, or ways that we could support you better, then please do get in touch!
The SCA Office is in the basement of the Cambridge Student Union building (17 Mill Lane). There is wheelchair access via a lift. There is padded seating, an accessible toilet, a gender-neutral toilet, natural light and blue badge parking is available across the road on Trumpington Street, in front of Ede and Ravenscroft. For training and events, we can also request access to a hearing loop, so do contact us in advance if you would like to use it.
